Chasing Rain Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain, USA 2020
When people think of Washington State, they think of Seattle; of coffee and hipsters…and rain. Lots and lots of rain. But east of the Cascades it’s a different story. The landscape turns cowboy movie dry and dusty pretty quickly. The Red Mountain AVA, where we grow our grapes, gets a mere 5 inches of rainfall annually. And that’s where our name, Chasing Rain, comes from. Minimal rainfall, a dry climate, and fast-draining soil force more sugar and energy into the fruit, not the leaf canopy. The result is intense notes of fruit in the complex and highly structured Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Blend, and Merlot. One slow sip will reveal our obsession with the craft of winemaking.
The Chasing Rain 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is pure Red Mountain. Scorching days and gusty nights imbue this wine with hints of espresso and mocha on the nose. While it's perfect with a great steak or lamb chop, its long dark cherry finish might just tempt you to have it for dessert.
Black cherry, dried herb and hints of espresso and mocha on the nose. Very refined on the palate, with generous fine grain tannins and a dense, savory mid palate that leads to a long, pleasing finish.
94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot
