Anthony Filiberti, Dave Low and Web Marquez crossed paths while working at Williams-Selyem in 2003 after a few years as cellar rats in California, Oregon, and Virginia. They started Anthill Farms in 2004, making eight-and-a-half barrels of wine their first year. While Production has increased and vineyard sources have expanded, the focus is still on small lots of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and a smattering of Syrah. Outside of their mailing list, a small amount of wine is released every year to restaurants and wine shops.
Surrounded by towering redwoods, Comptche Ridge is primarily planted to the Swan Clone made famous by California wine pioneer Joseph Swan. This wine is intense with big aromatics and distinct spiciness. A perennial favorite of AWCO across the Anthill Farms lineup. This is just hitting its sweet spot and should be delicious for years to come.
