Domaine Marc Morey & Fils Rully, Cote Chalonnaise, France 2022

The Domaine Marc Morey et fils is first the history of a family, indeed this exploitation exists since 1919, when Fernand Morey decides to install his operation in an old restaurant relay diligence.

He was joined by his son Marc in 1944, joined in 1977 by his daughter Marie-Josèphe and son-in-law Bernard Mollard. Today it is in the company of their daughter Sabine that they run this field.

The village of Rully is located in the northern part of the Côte Chalonnaise in Burgundy. Temperature-controlled fermentation to start, with a transfer midway through to barrel (25% new oak). The wine rests on the lees for six months with occasional battonage and is then lightly filtered before bottling.

Domaine Marc Morey's cellars are located directly under the century-old family home right in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet.
