Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee da Capo, Rhone, France 2020

The Rare pearl of the Domaine du Pegau, only produced by nature during beautiful years in the colors of great vintages that the Cuvée Da Capo shows itself. A plot selection of Crau, this cuvée is a traditional blend of 13 Châteauneuf du Pape grape varieties with a majority of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre expresses the generosity and character of the hundred-year-old vines planted in a soil of silica sand. Bottled only 7 times, this special wine has been a worldwide success.

A deep purple, dark and dense.

A deep purple, dark and dense. Ripe black fruits like plum and blackberry, licorice and black pepper. Focused, linear, deep and powerful, this shows great length with well integrated tannins. This wine should be able to age for 15 years. Rib eye and other grilled steaks, game dishes, and a number of chocolate based dishes

"The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Da Capo is a bigger, richer wine, as well as a more youthful, focused, behemoth of a 2020. Powerful notes of ripe black cherries, darker currants, ground pepper, charcuterie, and flower incense are just some of the notions here, and it's full-bodied, with a concentrated, opulent mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It doesn't match the all-time greats of this estate, but it’s a more approachable, opulent, undeniable sexy, Provençal Da Cape that's impossible not to love."  Jeb Dunnuck 98
