Three Sticks Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast, USA 2022

Acquired by Bill Price in late 2012, our 406-acre Gap’s Crown Vineyard is one of the most iconic vineyards of the Sonoma Coast, consistently producing pinot noirs and chardonnays of distinction. Located on the western slope of Sonoma Mountain, known as the Petaluma Gap, this unique site allows for near-perfect ripening conditions with a combination of wind and fog that is almost always present.

VINEYARD NOTES

One of three esteemed Heritage vineyards, Gap's Crown is located in the rugged terrain of the Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Coast AVAs. Known for its high winds and blanket of fog from the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay, the cool climate gives the fruit thicker skins, allowing for richer colors, complexity in flavors, and consistency from vintage to vintage.⁠

TASTING NOTES

In this 2022 pinot noir, the terroir truly comes alive, imparting earth-driven notes enriched by blueberry tart and hints of vanilla custard. Dark chocolate s'more and cocoa powder dusting add complexity while the acidity lifts the palate.
