Folly of Man Momtazi Pinot Noir McMinnville, Oregon 2023

The story of Folly of Man is etched in forty-eight acres of extraordinary land in Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills, where married winemakers Tracy and Aaron Kendall have planted not just vines, but the seeds of their family's legacy. Here, amid rows of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that dance with the seasons, they blend their technical expertise with a profound reverence for the earth that sustains them.

Tracy honed her craft through immersive experiences at Australia's Vasse Felix and New Zealand's Felton Road before spending ten formative years as Associate Winemaker at Nicolas-Jay. Working alongside Jean-Nicolas Méo of Domaine Méo-Camuzet, she developed an intuitive approach to winemaking that honors both tradition and innovation.

Aaron's journey began among the rolling hills of New York's Finger Lakes and flourished during his years leading winemaking at Beaux Frères. His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence helped produce Pinot Noirs that earned recognition among the world's finest wines.

Together, they've embraced biodynamic and regenerative agricultural practices that breathe life back into the soil. The Kendalls farm this way because these rows are where their children play. Every decision they make is about leaving this place more vibrant than they found it—not just for the wine in their glasses today, but for the generations who will tend these vines long after them.

Black and blue fruits, dried plum and exotic spices dominate the nose in this deeply expressive wine.  The windblown high elevation vineyard is showcased beautifully by hints of savory earth and black tea giving way to boysenberry and blackberry compote.  Wound tight, this wine exudes impressive structure and bright acid with a long lifted finish.
