Domaine Sylvain Pataille Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France 2022

This wine is crafted from hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes grown on Sylvain Pataille’s meticulously cared-for vineyards in the Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Beaune. The grapes are fermented with native yeasts, with a gentle extraction to preserve the purity of the fruit. The wine is aged in a combination of stainless steel and French oak barrels for around 12 months, with minimal intervention to allow the expression of the terroir to shine through. Bottled with a light touch, this Bourgogne Rouge is designed to be approachable and enjoyable in its youth, but with the structure to develop over the next few years.

A vibrant and enticing nose of fresh red berries—strawberry and raspberry—mingled with subtle floral notes of violets and a hint of earthy spice. On the palate, this Pinot Noir is elegant and pure, showcasing a silky texture with a fine balance of bright acidity and smooth tannins.
