Arterberry Maresh "Maresh Vineyard" Pinot Noir 2019

VINTAGE : 2019

REGION/APPELLATION : Oregon, Willamette Valley

VARIETALS : Pinot Noir

VINEYARD : Maresh Vineyard

One of the first and most historic vineyards in the Dundee Hills.  First planted in 1970's by Jim and Loie Maresh and certainly one of the most sought-after fruit sources in the region, these wines consistently receive the highest praise from critics and Pinot enthusiasts alike. I have been a staunch supporter for years and am happy to see that they still remain true to their original model.  Jim is over 80 and still tends to his vineyards on a daily basis .

"The 2019 Pinot Noir Maresh Vineyard comes from Pommard and Wadenswil clone vines planted in 1974 and was matured for 23 months in oak. Proprietor Jim Maresh says that, "The 2019s needed that extra polish." It's extraordinarily expressive and complex this vintage, with detailed cranberry, raspberry and tangerine aromas and nuances of rose petals and aniseed. The palate has a weightless feel from its bright acidity, silky texture and surprising fruit concentration, finishing very long and pure."

98 points, Erin Brooks
