Benoit Dehu 'Initiation' Rose Brut Nature, Champagne, France 2021

The Champagne House of Déhu Père et Fils was founded in 1787, two years before the French Revolution. The passionate and pensive Benoit Déhu represents the eighth generation of winegrowers at this historic, but under-the-radar estate.

This gorgeous champagne was vinified in oak barrels without malolactic fermentation. It was aged in oak barrels for 10 months and then sur lattes in bottle for 24-30 months. Zero dosage, The wine is intense, zippy, round, and vibrant with a persistent mousse, and a driving minerality. Sophisticated flavors of chalk, brioche, cranberry, red currant, strawberry, mint, and white pepper abound.
