Anthill Farms "Campbell Ranch" Pinot Noir California 2020
Very dark ruby, as usual. The nose showcases notes of racy spice and intense cherry, raspberry, blood orange and nuances bone broth. With time, this wine fans out on the palate in flavors mirroring the nose. The gorgeous mouthfeel lingers, remaining focused by the linear acidity and integrated tannins. Although expressive right away, a little time open goes a long way—as is the case with most of our wines. Patience is certainly a virtue. With air this impactful, lengthy wine shifts into an ethereal, perfumed experience that glides on the palate with a character truly specific to the northern Sonoma Coast/Annapolis AVA. 2020 is perhaps our favorite from this site to date. Drink over the next dozen years.
